Sirens and Seriemas

Photographs and Poems of the Amazon and Pantanal

Sirens and Seriemas invites readers to journey through Brazil’s wild and fragile landscapes, from the flooded forests of the Amazon to the open grasslands of the Pantanal. Paul Brookes combines evocative photography with lyrical poetry, offering a window into the daily lives, traditions, and struggles of Amazonian communities. The work draws attention to environmental challenges such as habitat loss, climate change, and unsustainable development. At the same time, it celebrates the resilience and beauty that still thrives. Through carefully chosen images and words, Sirens and Seriemas delivers both a love letter to nature and a call to protect it for future generations.
