UK500

Birding in the Fast Lane

UK500 is a lively, entertaining and informative account of the author’s venture to record 500 bird species found in Britain and Ireland. And this before his 30th birthday. It took him over 17 years. His own photographs and splendid paintings and drawings complement his birdwatching story. James recounts car crashes, stormy sea crossings, plane convoys and even a coastguard rescue during his travels in pursuit of rare birds.
